In this assignment you will choose a political quote. The quote must have a clear Social Responsibility message. Document your quote (give credit to the person you are quoting).
This paper should be double spaced, 10-12 size font, one-inch margins, and a total of at least two (2) pages of text, not including the title.
Before beginning your paper: Research, and study the definition and related information on the “Civic Engagement Value Rubric.”
Title: Center the title, at one inch (1 inch) from top of page. The title will include the quote and author. Example, and you may not use this quote:

Paragraph 1: After reading and understanding the Value Rubric definition of Civic Engagement (Social Responsibility) design and state your definition of Civic Engagement/Social Responsibility. Explain if your definition could be applied to other communities and across cultures and explain how. This should be roughly one-half page.
Paragraph 2. Choose a quote with political overtones on Social Responsibility—there must be a clear reference to Social Responsibility that can be related to government issues/policies. Tell us about your quote. Who wrote it and what is their place in history, in other words why are they important? Include the background/history of the quote if possible—where and when was the quote stated? What are they trying to say? Use an in-text citation (parenthetical reference with name of source, date, page). This should be roughly one-half page.
Paragraph 3. Why did you choose this quote–how does it speak to you? How do you think this quote speaks to others—can it be applied across other cultures and communities and how can it be applied? This should be roughly one-half page.
Paragraph 4. How can you apply what you have learned from this quote and your analysis of it -how can you become more Socially Responsible? How can you encourage others to become more Socially Responsible? This should be roughly one-half page.
