Writer’s stance: is to agree with the topic

1. There is no need to provide a title page, 400 words should only be used in the news story.
2. You may suggest a topic for a feature story/article: I am willing to hear you out so we can discuss it. 🙂
3. 1st Paragraph/lead: should introduce the topic so the reader can understand what the argument is about.
4. Should have a high degree of effectiveness in presenting the story (ability to inform the reader what the topic is all about and be able to give a clear conclusion at the end).
5. Make use of Transitional devices.
6. Writer’s Stance: is to agree with the topic
7. Writer must be able to include positive and negative viewpoints despite his/her stand.
8. The Editorial Article/Story should be able to persuade or encourage action in readers.
9. Follow the rule of thumb: One Idea – One paragraph rule.
10. Avoid using too much jargon and complex language, keep it simple for readers to easily understand.

This came from my coach.

I chose for the theme “You never take the amount any amount of playing time for granted you will never know when will be your last.” This came from my coach. I was a sick kid so I always took this to heart.

This is a Journal Entry I do not need a cover page This has to be 2 complete pages For Immanuel Kant, the fundamental question isn’t “What is the right thing to do?” or “Who is the right person to be?” or “What will create the most happiness?” For Kant, the fundamental question is “Can this action be made a consistent universal law?” A part of his moral philosophy that is often understated is that he spoke for broad moral laws, not a bunch of exceptions; for example, he would say that lying cannot be made a consistent universal law, and exceptions like not hurting people’s feelings or to keep a party a surprise would not be acceptable. Kant also said that part of living in a moral society is helping others live morally without forcing or coercing them. This is a consistent universal law and a human duty. So is upholding human dignity. So is not causing unnecessary pain (which he extended to not causing unnecessary pain to animals). And plenty more. Kant also stated that we should use people only as ends unto themselves (upholding their dignity), not as means to our own ends. ———————————- Without doing any research on Kant’s social views or what philosophers have said, pick one of the following issues and explain whether or not it could consistently be made a universal law. I’ll be looking for your analysis (reason), not at whether you agree with me–there is room for (polite) disagreement. Remember–broad rules, few exceptions. capital punishment assisted suicide of the terminally ill automatic voter registration (when getting a driver’s license/graduating h.s./etc.) universal public schooling mandatory public service (1 year military/civil service after h.s. or 18th birthday) mandatory post-mortem organ donation mental acuity testing for driver’s license issuing and renewing (hey, we test the eyes, so . . . )
