1. Why do you want to use TTM and not another model?
Trans theoretical model is something that is most popular when dealing with the field of behavior changes. There is detail on how to use this model for how to deal with change in behavior and the different stages. Amanda is planning to use the model for her study for patients with diabetes. Her degree background is in health education. While it might be strange to use this model for obtaining data, it makes sense to why. Physical activity and a healthy nutrition can all reflect back in someone’s behavior. Have you ever met someone who is like a bear if they have not eaten all day? That is why I think these go hand in hand and have a great impact on one another. There is some insight that there is a new model that comes out each year to better the last one. The process can take a while or it can take as little to 6 month. It requires a great deal of dedication and patience.

1. How long will your educational intervention be?
Considering the different stages and time in which diabetic patients will have to endure, I think 9 months to one year should be the cut off time for the longevity of this intervention. It is important to keep in mind that as patients find their way to adjusting to their new lifestyle there could be times of significant progress as well as times of regress. Once patients accept to consider changes in their lifestyle, they have a window of six months in maintaining this in order to begin seeing a transition into successful outcomes at the end of the program. Because of this six-month time frame is why I think 9 months to one year is enough time for Amanda to begin seeing and analyzing outcomes of the educational intervention.
